I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
